Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance

The Montgomery County chapter of Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) meets at 7:00 p.m. on alternate Wednesdays in Bethesda. This peer support group has been active for 15 years. Usually 10 to 20 people attend, a mix of regular members and newcomers. The group is open to anyone who is in treatment for depression or bipolar disorder. This is a peer support group for people in treatment for depression or bipolar disorder. The meetings begin with a brief reading of the eight DBSA guidelines about confidentiality and tolerance, after which each person is invited to say something from their own experience with depression or bipolar disorder. We go around the circle. You don't have to talk if you don't want to. Read more
